When I came to this home page, my first impression of the main picture was - Why would this fellow place a picture of Johnny Depp as Captain Sparrow here if he is promoting himself as a character impersonator? - Of course when the realization hit me and I actually knew it was Darrin dressed up as Captain Jack, I have to tell you, I was sincerely amazed. I thought it was impossible; it had to be some sort of a photographic trick, the use of touched up photography. However, as I reviewed the other photographs I realized he was the real thing. I was absolutely flabbergasted. No joke, my jaw dropped and I think I must have gasped over the amazing close up pictures. I actually compared them to other photos of Johnny Depp in Captain Sparrow garb and could not tell them apart! It was freakish and I said to myself, if this man can actually talk and move like him, it will be a long shot. What are the chances that an impersonator can concoct the combination of physical illusion, auditory skill, and possess the mobile likeness of a character? Very few impersonators are that gifted to encompass it all. Well, I was in for a rare treat.

I progressed further onto this website and began watching the videos. I was still encased in a sheath of denial, not believing my very eyes as to the unique and remarkable resemblance. Darrins visage and portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow was uncanny. The fact that he has been doing this for only a short period of time, by the performing arts standards; it is truly remarkable indeed what he has accomplished. I am actually even more baffled that Darrin has not gained further acclaim or notoriety by now. Darrin is extremely talented and it appears that Captain Jacks magic is spread out there before him to reap the treasures!

Here in the States we have a glut of mediocre Jack Sparrow performers; guys who smudge on a bit of kohl around their eyes, swagger about and mutter a swill of indistinct phrases in a foppish, cockney accent thinking they have captured the great Captains charm. They most certainly did not. Darrin most certainly HAS! Darrin happens to contain the distinct rarity to acquire the amazing combination of a striking physical countenance that in some shots is almost eerily better looking than the real Captain Jack, and he seems to include the swaggering gestures, nervous ticks, grand mannerisms, flexible facial expressions, and precise voice cadence of the character down to a T. In fact, he could quite readily be the twin of Captain Sparrow, far superior in every way over Mr. Depps current photo double that he uses in his films-Ron Rodriguez. I wonder if Johnny Depp has ever seen Darrin, because I think he too would be quite shocked and captured with the resemblance.

After reading the story of how Darrin saved our former NJ governor (I hale from NJ in the States) from the attack in the tubes, I thought - and hes a nice guy too. To care about others is a special quality and the ability to sacrifice ones own safety for another stems from a very noble heart. In this age of the internet, the term -stranger- even seems dulled and there are many scary individuals lurking out there that prey on others. I do not usually reach out to people I do not know, but I just had to write to Darrin to tell him how impressed I was with his amazing story and character transformation. I realized that he has that extra special something operating for him, raw talent and extreme kindness. What an immense chronicle it would be for him to achieve even greater success.
