Sarasvati is an exceptionally talented multi award winning artist who is based currently in London. In 2013 she has placed 2nd place at the Miss Belly dance UK competition and also took 2nd place at the Fantasia Festival in London. In 2014 she has won 1st place in the Classical Egyptian at the 22nd Dance Festival of Europe organized by Leyla Jouvana in Germany.
Sarasvati journey with belly dance started in 2008 in London, where she has attended the West College of Oriental Dance and trained in traditional style belly dance with many high acclaimed artists.
In 2010 Sarasvati began to explore Turkish Oriental style under professional eye of Ozgen where she was invited to perform at the Turkish-Spanish Festival and other belly dance events. In early January 2011, Sarasvati began her training in Egypt with international star Randa Kamel after which she has joined the Arabian Dance Theatre in London and performed in both shows “Under the Sun” and “Be Here Now”.
In 2012 Sarasvati has attended many workshops and travelled aboard to continue her training in Oriental Dance with international mater teachers like Tito, Wael Mansour and Mercedes Nieto and also regularly performed at London events. During the beginning of 2013 Sarasvati took part in another theatrical production “Walk by the Palace” organized by Melanie Norman in Islington Hall and later on that year Sarasvati began to explore other style of belly dance such as Iraqi Kawleeya and Flamenco Fusion.
In 2014 Sarasvati began to teach belly dance classes in London and took part in various private events as well as “Richmond on the Hill” festival. Since then Sarasvati has been polishing her skills in traditional belly dance (saidi, baladi, shabby) and classical oriental with use of different props such as poi veils, veils, fan veils, isis wings, sword and double stick.
Sarasvati Dance specializes in different styles of belly dance such as traditional saidi, baladi, shabby, iraqi kawleeya and alexandrian (melaya leff) and also in classical Egyptian or Turkish. Her belly dance costumes are always chosen professionally to suit the dance style and occasion with either classic two piece of costume or traditional galabeya.
Additionally if you would like to mesmerise your guests with "wow" entertainment Sarasvati also performs with poi veils, veils, isis wings, fan veils, saidi sticks and sword.
Sarasvati has performed at weddings, birthday parties, hen nights (Mehendi), corporate events, dance festivals, clubs and charity events.
